Robin Hood Case Study

1) Show a basic organization chart for Robin Hood and his men.

2) What problems does Robin Hood have? What issues need to be addressed?

Robin Hood has several issues that need to be addressed:

* Robin Hood Merrymen was growing too large to be supported by the local region.

* Due to the constant recruiting, they began to have food shortage and could not provide shelter.

* Sheriff Nottingham was becoming powerful and well organized.

* The vigilance was in decline and discipline was becoming harder to enforce within the Merrrymen and

* Revenue was in decline due to travelers not giving the forest a wide birth.

* Switching their tactics, such as fighting methods. Come up with in ways of fighting against their competitor.

* Try to organize the band as one force to create common goals and objectives.

Every last of these factors are major problem that Robin Hood needs to overcome.

3) Do Robin Hood and the Merrymen need a new mission or new strategy? Is continuing with the present strategy an option or is the present strategy obsolete?

Robin Hood and the Merrymen need a new strategy. For two years, Robin Hood and his band have been fighting the Sheriff and using their old strategy still hasn’t worked. For one, travelers were becoming costly and inconvenient to them having all their goods confiscated. Secondly, Robin’s plan to force the Sheriff out by causing unrest and the Sheriffs failure to collect taxes did not remove him from office. Instead, the Sheriff used his political connections to obtain reinforcement. To make matter worse, Prince John was appointed to the throne by several barons, who were beginning to dispute his claim to the throne. They set out to collect the ransom that would release King Richard from jail. Robin was invited to join in return for future amnesty.
