When the source of life is taken for granted.

ater - is very vital for all known forms of life. On earth, it is found mostly in oceans and other large water bodies with 1.6% of water below ground in aquifers and 0.001% in the air as vapor, clouds and precipitation. Oceans hold 97% of surface water, glaciers and polar ice caps 2.4% and other land surface water such as rivers, lakes and ponds 0.6%. A very small amount of the Earth’s water is contained within biological bodies and manufactured products.

Water is life and is very important not just for humans but also to all the living creatures who live on Earth. But humans made the water polluted and over used water consumption.

" More than one-half of the world’s major rivers are being seriously depleted and polluted, degrading and poisoning the surrounding ecosystems, thus threatening the health and livelihood of people who depend upon them for irrigation, drinking and industrial water. "

About 20% of human population lacks access to safe drinking water and about 50% lacks adequate sanitation. Water consumption as of 2011 has reached 2,188,937 Billion Liters and counting…

Effects:

The many effects of water pollution varied and depend on what chemicals are dumped and to what location. The main problem ‘caused by water pollution is that it kills life. Sooner or later humans will be affected by this process as well. People could get diseases by eating seafood that has been poisoned such as hepatitis.

Prevention:

There are a lot of ways on how to prevent water pollution and too much use of water consumption. There are many things you can do to help.

* Always be careful care about what you throw on your sink or toilet. Don’t throw oils, paints or other forms of chemicals.

* Use environment friendly household products, such as washing powder, toiletries and household cleaning agents.
