Introduction

Departments are the entities organizations form to organize populace, reporting relationships, and work in a way that best supports the completion of the organization's goals. It is usually structured by functions such as human resources, marketing, administration, and sales.

Human Resource Department (HRD) is the function within an organization that focuses on recruitment of, management of, and providing direction for the people who work in the organization.

It is the organizational function that deals with issues related to people such as compensation, hiring, performance management, organization development, safety, wellness, benefits, employee motivation, communication, administration, and training.

HRD composes some of the most common jobs such as the Human Resource director, Human Resource generalist, and Human Resource assistant. In the other company, it also composes of a Human Resource Vice President, and employees who are organized around providing a specific factor of Human Resource services including compensation, training, organization development, and safety. It can also be performed by line managers as well.

In simple terms, “the department is the one maximizing return on investment in the organization’s human capital and minimizes financial risk. It seeks to achieve this by aligning the supply of skilled and qualified individuals and the capabilities of the current workforce, with the organizations ongoing and future business plans and requirements to maximize return on investment and secure future survival and success.
