The duty of a health care manager involves many important roles. While on the job, they will need tools such as; communication skills and skills in using four specific functions. The four function that will be used are plan, control, organize and leading (Lombardi & Schermehorn, 2010). There are many duties that are performed but the most important is helping the organization achieve high performance while using all human and material resources that are available (Lombardi and Schermerhorn, 2007). Managers in the health care field must make the effort to improve operations and plan improvements for the future.

Communication skills are drastically needed for the role of a health care manager. Being able to communicate properly can enforce the proper functioning of the organization. According to Lombardi and Schererhorm (2007), “on a daily basis health care managers must recognize performance problems opportunities, make proper and professional decision and take appropriate action.” The managers also need to recognize when there is an emergency or disaster that has occurred. During this time, the manager will carefully plan, organize, control and lead the situation so that it is handled in the proper way.A daily responsibility of a health care manager is notifying team members of what is expected of them during the work day. They also must recruit, train and develop team members, (Lombardi and Schermerhorn, 2007). There are many other responsibilities of a health care manager such as; planning meetings, clarifying goals and tasks and coordinating with other teams. Health care managing is not easy, there are many tools and skills that need to be achieved in order to run an organization properly.
