Word What is your personal understanding of each of these terms? After reading the text, how would you redefine each of them? What differences did you find between the popular usage and actual definitions?

Karma Karma influences experiences in this life and the next. Karma is the direct effect or consequence on a person for their pure or impure actions. What goes around comes around. Yoga An exercise, mental enlightenment. A Hindu series of physical, mental, and spiritual exercises to aid in enlightenment. I knew that yoga was an exercise and for mental enlightenment. I understand that it is more of a mental enlightenment now.

Guru A wise, intelligent person of importance. A religious leader or spiritual teacher. The term is used to define and describe a person of great wisdom or importance. I realize now the term definitions are similar, but in Hindu terms it is on a more religious and spiritual level.

Chakras The spirit center of the human body. Any of the seven energy centers in the body. The term defines spiritual energy in the human body. This term is used in yoga.
