Process Improvement Plan
The collected data over the past five weeks on who makes dinner in my household and who washes dishes help me determine how balance these house shores are. Collecting data on the dinner has also help me determine how often food is ordered in our household instead of cooking. Also washing dishes is a shore we dislike very much in the house and want to measure the share of the task among the family members.
Concerning to making dinner, the data shows that I make it more frequently than my spouse the first couple of weeks. This is because she was working longer hours, and I normally arrived home earlier. However, there were times that we order food because we both worked late or I had to focus on my schoolwork. Examining Table 1, it shows the frequency that we make dinner and order food. Table 1 Dinner
Based on this data I have determined that there were factors that affected the balance of this shore at home. Long working hours and uncertain schedule or workload affected this home process. Our goal was to minimize the food orders because we are strong believers in making our own meals. In a five-week period, we ordered food five times with week three been the most food ordered. The mean of the food order is 5 with a standard deviation of 0.707. This means the probability that we order food is between 0.38 and 1.62 with a level of confidence of 95%. This tells me that we are doing a good job minimizing the food orders in the household, and we can improve more. Using the simple moving average formula we can determine or assume a good estimate of future orders...
