Facilities
The Bentonville, Arkansas based retailer Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. includes Wal-Mart supercenters, discount stores, Neighborhood Markets and Sam’s Club warehouses. The operation market includes more than 4,100 facilities in the United States and more than 3,100 additional facilities in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Japan, Mexico, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom. Wal-Mart has established a joint venture with Bharti Enterprises to establish wholesale cash-and-carry and back-end-supply management operations in India.
Wal-Mart International stores, just like those in the U.S., provide excellent customer service and convenience as well as offer working families the things they need at prices they can afford. Wal-Mart goes to great lengths to ensure its international stores reflect the local needs and wants of the customers, and they work hard to make sure the stores are seen as vital partners in communities. The company has created stores with different styles and formats to fit in with local customer needs, desires, and customs. More than 75 percent of the international stores operate under a different banner than Wal-Mart. But, whether they are Pali in Costa Rica, Todo Dia in Brazil, or Despensa Familiar in Central America, all of the stores share a common goal: Save people money, so they can live better. This approach is the reason Wal-Mart is being welcomed into country after country around the globe, and its also why they have tremendous potential to continue rapid growth internationally.
