1.0 Introduction of Online Social Networking

The Internet is a global system of computer networks – a network of networks that allows the users in any computer to get information from any other computer. It also allows users to dialog with each other. Physically, the Internet uses a part of the whole resources of the currently existing public telecommunication networks. However, in technical aspect, the Internet uses a set of protocols called Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to differentiate it. (Internet, 2000) The most extensively used part of the Internet is the World Wide Web (WWW). It is a computer network that consisting of a subset of the internet which provide text, graphic, sound, and animation resources via hypertext transfer protocol (Miller, Fellbaum, Tengi, Langone, Ernst, & Jose). It refers to a method of instant cross-referencing. URL is a standardized method to locate a resource such as file or document on the Internet. The function of URL is to specify the address of a file and thus, every file on the Internet has a particular address. URL used by the web software to retrieve a file from the computer on which it resides. The actual URL is a set of four figures separated by periods such as 211.164.28.185 or also can be represented in alphanumeric form such as www.facebook.py.com as it is easier for human to use. Ultimately, Internet Domain Name System would convert the alphanumerical address to numeric (Web Developers Notes).

The existence of internet has led to the emergence of online social networking websites which was increasingly popular nowadays. Social networking has changed the way of interaction between people. It refers to an online structure made up of individuals or business connected via common platform. Despite social networking become more popularity and frequently, online can extended in to real life situations and discussions.
