Global Warming: we decide our fate

For years the inhabitants of planet Earth have been faced with a major problem that has been on the rise. This ever so pressing issue is known as global warming. Global warming is the continuous rise in the average temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere and oceans. This is the result of increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases in the Earth’s atmosphere which are from natural and manmade causes.

As a person that values the health of our planet, I believe that global warming is a major moral issue. I believe this is a moral issue because a large portion of the problems that cause global warming can be contributed to the human race and the harmful activities that we are part of. Some of the terrible things that contribute to the issue are the use of fossil fuels, such as when vehicles emit carbon dioxide after running off of gas, deforestation, methane from cattle, the use of aerosol cans, and many others. The most prominent human cause however is the emissions from fossil fuel. Every time a car, airplane, boat, or anything that burns fossil fuel is used Carbon Dioxide is released and adds to the problem of global warming. People could help to slow down global warming if only they chose healthier lifestyles and used fossil fuels less.

All over the world, everyone is constantly contributing to global warming. Even in my community people are speeding up global warming unknowingly. In my local community there are hardly any public transportation devices and this causes more people to drive which contributes to more Carbon Dioxide being released through the use of fossil fuels. I believe that fossil fuel usage could be something that could be cut down on greatly in my community and would help to contribute to the slowing of global warming. It is important that my community address this problem and try to work to change it so that we can help to slow down global warming. Even if public transportation does not become a greater...
