In the early 1990’s Lockheed Martin designed and built the next generation of C-130 Aircraft. “The Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules is the world's most advanced tactical airlifter”. “Designed and developed with mission flexibility in mind − combat delivery, air-to-air refueling, special operations, disaster relief and humanitarian missions − the C-130J has a unique mix of agility and performance to consistently operate at very high tempo operations efficiently and reliably”. “The C-130J Super Hercules is the only airlifter with the range and flexibility for emerging theaters and evolving concepts of operation”. “This tactical transport aircraft has already proven itself in many kinds of missions, many in the harshest operating conditions possible (Lockheed martin, 2011)”.

This new C-130J Aircraft utilizes a Rolls-Royce AE2100D3 Turbo Prop Engine and a Dowty Propellers R391 Propeller. Traditionally Lockheed Martin has provided the long term Customer Sustainment in one comprehensive package. “Lockheed Martin maintenance and modification support enhances not only customer safety and mission success, but also the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of customer operations”. “Our expert depot-level and field-services maintenance support ensures that our customers' aircraft are available whenever, wherever they are needed”.” In addition, Lockheed Martin modification work provides technology upgrades that extend the life of our customers' aircraft and enhance its durability and capabilities (Lockheed Martin, 2011)”.
