Abstract

The current study investigated the effect of cellular phones on men’s communication. It was hypothesized that the invention of cellular phones has increased the line of communication among men. Male and female college students (N= 114) completed the Cell Phone Survey (Herber et al., 2004) which contained questions pertaining to cellular communication. Surveys were administered randomly on the St. Cloud State University campus within a one-week period to students. A focus group was also organized to assess college students’ views of cellular communication. The hypothesis was examined by conducting field research by way of a 15-question survey and a four member focus group. The results from the survey were tabulated using a spread sheet and the information from the focus group has been organized in statement format.
