Riordan Manufacturing has to overhaul, update and redesign the company’s outdated Human Resource Information System (HRIS) that was established in 1992 (ecampus University of Phoenix, 2004) . This system is a part of the financial package that tracks employee pay rates, hire and seniority date, tax exemptions status, and all other personal information. An assessment of these systems was conducted and an identification of processes requiring upgrades was recognized to determine the methods and systems of integrating new programs to support the human resource department’s mission. Riordan is a global plastics manufacturing company that has a projected earning potential of 46 million dollars per year. The company employs 550 colleagues and is owned by Riordan Industries which is a fortune 1000 enterprise possessing earnings exceeding one billion dollars. Riordan Manufacturing’s main customers are Department of Defense (DoD), bottling companies, aircraft and appliance companies and beverage making corporations. Currently, the enterprise has requested service order, SR-rm-004, to acquire an evaluation of their current human resource system. This action demonstrates the manufacturing company’s needs and desires to enhance their current systems to better support staff, stakeholders and customers. This paper will discuss the methods and ideologies proposed to collect, analyze and utilize the information obtain during research; explain the key factors that will ensure successful collection of required information; and explicate the scope and feasibility of this project.
