1.Introduction:
The aviation industry in India is one of those sectors that saw a constant pace of growth among the other industries in the world over the past many years. The open sky policy of the government has helped a lot of overseas players entering the aviation market in India. From then, it has only been growing in terms of players and the number of aircrafts. At present, private airlines account for around 75% portion of the domestic aviation market. The 9th largest aviation market in the world is India. The prediction stated that international passengers will touch 50 million by 2015. More opportunities in the aviation industry in India are likely to make way for about 69 foreign airlines from 49 countries.
2.Growth of Indian Aviation Industry:
Indian civil aviation has flown from strength to strength and is today one of the fastest growing aviation markets in the world.The past 100 years has seen Indian civil aviation “expand exponentially”. Over the past two decades, the nation’s fleet has grown from a fleet of only about 100 to 435 aircraft. The growth would further accelerate and in another decade or so, India would have about 1,000 more planes and 500 more helicopters.
Airport capacity has met this demand, with the handling capacity of India’s airports reaching 235 million people, is sufficient to fulfil our needs for the next few years. Separately, the Airports of Authority reportedly stated it invested INR12 billion (USD265 million)...
