India is considered as one of the most emerging superpowers of the world. This potential is attributed to several indicators, the primary ones being its demographic trends, rapidly expanding economy. However the country suffers from many economic, social and political problems that it must overcome before considering it as a superpower.

There are various factors which can propel the growth of India as a super power they being its geographical factor, demographic factor, political factor, economic factor, military factor and cultural factor. On the contrary there are equal factors which negate the rise of India as a superpower, they being political obstacles, economic instability and social/ domestic issues. The actual point of discussion leads to the sustenance of India’s growth as one the superpowers.

India being the 7th largest country by area has many geographical advantages which lead to favorable condition for it being superpower. India can optimize its trade by multiplying dominance over south Asian waters, although such dominance would not be well received as that being a crucial route of trade of Middle East and south Asian countries. But what one can do is to leverage the trade policies near to Indian territorial waters. The subcontinents land and water resources although strained is well serving its teaming population. The most favorable advantage of a strategic location. I.e. of being in the tropical belt would lead India to greatly benefit from the renewable source of energy. Such as solar, hydro and the likes.
