This is the life story of a man, a man who became a legend. This man is Ty Murray. Ty Murray became a legend in professional bull and bronco riding. Ty followed his dream and set many records and won many titles in professional bull and bronco riding.

“Ty came from Glendale, Arizona. It was a small town but not to small. Glendale was right outside of Phoenix, Arizona. Ty was born on October 11, 1969” (Murray and Santos 15).

When he was born and was able to come home his parents brought him home in cowboy boots and a cowboy hat. Ty’s parent’s names were Butch and Joy Murray and Ty had 2 older sisters. Their names were Kim and Kerri (Murray and Santos 16).

Ty started riding calves when he was 2 years old. One of Ty’s quotes he said was “Ty would never suggest to anyone to put their 2 year old on a calf.” When Ty stared riding calves his dad would run along next to me and hold on to my belt loops so if I fell off he would catch me so I wouldn’t get hurt. Ty’s parent’s always set up the situation that was safe as it could be. A couple more of Ty’s quotes was “kids need to be strong enough to ride.” “I couldn’t get enough of it.” (Murray and Santos 16)

When Ty messed up while riding my dad would tell him like it was. Ty’s mom and dad have always had the greatest influence on his life. Ty’s parents believed in him so much that he believed in himself. Every single decision Ty’s parents made; it revolved around Ty and his sisters (Murray and Santos 17).

When Ty was a kid riding was his first love. Ty loved to ride. If it were up to him he would ride all day and night; Ty’s first rodeo was in Camp Verde, Arizona. At Ty’s first rodeo he was the only kid who made the whistle in the first round. To Ty, everything was a rodeo to him. Ty would do anything and everything he could to be a cowboy.
