The name of my business will be Johnson Accounting. My business will be a sole proprietorship, as myself being the owner. I chose this structure because I intend to be my own boss, running my accounting business geared toward the small medium business owners. The idea is to open in a semi-small town where word of mouth, a small ad in the phone book, and the chance to prove quality work with excellent customer service gains a good reputation.

My business will provide strictly personal and business accounting services only. On the personal level an individual could request our services if they fill the need to have their own personal accountant, in order to help guide them in the organization of their own daily finances. For the small business owner the convenience of having my company take care of their accounting will relieve them of one less stress, especially during tax season.

Accounting will be the main role of my business due to the fact that the business is accounting. My plan is to have at least three other employees, other than myself, who will be personal accountants for a certain number of clients each. The type of work characteristics I will be looking for when hiring my accounting staff will be knowledge in basic computers skills, also including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs. Employees must also have intermediate to advanced typing skills, excellent people skills, and customer service. Organization, dependability, and longevity will be a must. As far as accounting knowledge and education, the candidate must have at least five plus years of accounting experience and an Associate’s Degree in Accounting, or higher.

I believe if anyone is going to own their own business, then they should have at least an associate’s degree in the field of the business, and a few years of accounting experience of some type in order to have a good understanding, and knowledge of what...
