Subject line: Application for tax staff (ID #4999)
October 2, 2011
Dear Sir or Madam:
From the university recruiting and the website of your company, I learned about your need for a tax staff position. I am very interested in this position, and believe that my education background and work experience are appropriate for the position.
I will complete my Master degree in Accountancy at XX University in September 2012, and I will be available for full-time or part-time employment in May 2012.
While taking courses at school, I am also currently working as the only volunteer accountant in a non-profit organization. I initiated the bookkeeping for the entire organization, and since then, I have been responsible for recording financial transactions.
I also had work experience in taxation. In February 2011, I worked for Tax-Aid Non-Profit Corporation as a tax preparer to draft and prepare tax forms for low income residents.
Furthermore, I had four years experience working full-time in the area of accounting and auditing in China. From 2006 to 2009, I was a financial accountant in Shenjia Shipyard in Shanghai. I recorded financial transactions, analyzed monthly finance reports, and budgeted financial costs and revenues using the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. From 2005 to 2006, I worked as an internal auditor in Shenjia Shipyard. I was responsible for auditing monthly finance reports from all the departments. I evaluated more than 1000 purchase applications totaling more than 1 million dollars. Since 2007, I have been qualified as a Certified Accounting Professional, which was issued by Ministry of Finance, P. R. China.
I believe the combination of my education background and work experience is an excellent match for the tax staff position you described. Attached is a copy of my resume, which more fully details my qualifications for the position.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I look forward to receiving your reply.
Sincerely,...
