What is your reaction to Cox’s assertion that “intimate physical contact of any kind between male and female is sexual behavior”? Why? Do you believe that the media more often reflect current sexual attitudes or shape them? Why? Why do you think more unwed mothers are keeping their babies? Do you believe it is best for an unwed teenage mother to keep her baby or put it up for adoption? Why? Why do you think there is such a difference between people’s permissive attitudes toward premarital sex in general and their desire to date and marry someone who has been chaste? What is your reaction to the author’s suggestion that dating couples practice a “go slow” approach to physical intimacy and save permissible expressions of intimacy to celebrate significant stages of their relationship? Why? In your opinion, why does the Bible take such a strong stand against premarital sexual relations?

Chapter 6

What do you believe the biblical phrase “one flesh” means? Why? In your opinion, why are so many people embarrassed and afraid to discuss sexual matters? Why do we need to understand sex as more than just a biological function? What similarities do you see between the male and

reproductive systems? Why do you believe it is important for parents to teach their children a healthy and biblical view of sex? Did your parents do this for you? What do you see as the main truths being taught in Proverbs 5:15–19?
