Based on the line chart, we can see that Genting Berhad’s share price has been steadily increasing over the year and it has no bigger drop compare to others return. For FTSE 100, the index return has dropped in February and March. This is due to worsening economic conditions. The downward revision is unsurprised given the worsening economic outlook as GDP continue to fall and unemployment rises. In July and October has also dropped due to an economy downturn in the western world, Malaysia will be affected also, vice versa.

From the line chart above, we are noticed that Nikkei 225 return has been fell for three months that are September, October and November. This is due to the H1N1 epidemic that occurs somewhere around that month. Besides of this, another reason for the economic down turn is due to Japanese yen strengthening. A stronger yen reduces the value of overseas sales at Japanese companies when converted into their home currency.
