ABSTRACT
Richard Branson is known as a successful entrepreneur in the United Kingdom (UK). His famous brand which also the name of his businesses is Virgin. He started his business since his youth. He started with “just” launching a magazine “Student” and up until now, he owns over 400 companies under Virgin umbrella.
Richard Branson is a risk-taker and lives his life to its fullest. He is extravert and very open to experience. His work values come from within himself and his motivation in doing businesses was to prove himself and get excitement from his work. Now he is motivated by his employees and people around the world who need help, he feels that he has responsibility to keep his employee’s wealth and help people all over the world.
As a leader of many people who work for him, he treats his employees as a family and he gives equal opportunity for his employees to discuss and express their idea. He motivated his employees using Participative Behavior and Supportive Behavior. He has his own style to do decision-making. He do rely on his instict rather than do research for making decision.
Richard Branson uses flat organizational structure in operating his organization. He also believes two things, employees matter most and huge company has nothing good about it. By implementing those things into his businesses, his businesses develop faster than any other businesses in UK.
