Many companies out there talk about strategy and empowering employees, but yet have no idea what employee empowerment is or strategy in penetration pricing is. Employee empowerment is not only allowing employees to do it their way, also encouraging them to own issues, take the step and develop the methodology to do so. Employee empowerment must start with employee motivation, employer motivation, empowerment culture, recognition and encouragement. (Eric Feigenbaum, Employee Empowerment and Decision Making) There also needs to be great strategy when a company would like to penetrate a new market, more importantly how they will do it, most of the time the answer is offering a low price with a high quality product.

Nike is now designing employee networks that are designed to help Nike to move towards greater diversity. In the U.S. six employee networks are focusing their attention on fostering development to work performance, and to identify mentors to teach lower class workers. Nike is even going as far as recruiting diverse professionals to encourage improved teamwork and interaction within and across different work groups. Nike had recently polled employees, line managers and factory managers to resolve production issues. Nike’s findings came to reveal that many workers and line managers did not know what to do in problematic situations, overall slowing production down. Using employee motivation and education to develop a higher standard and more productive workforce is a great approach. This approach has been to give factory workers the skills and abilities needed to manage production and immediately address issues as they arise, such as quality or process improvements.
