When presenting, submit the following before presenting

Seminar Presentation

•Present how you will outline/approach your topic ( Presentar el tema)

•Subsequent aim: Stimulate discussion resulting in helpful feedback that allows to improve your essay

•Presentation media according to seminar venue

•Length 5-10 minutes (max 5 slides!)

•Submit an outline to the tutor (Esquema para el tutor)

–Clearly structured outline with clear and brief headings and subheadings

–should convey all of the key points of your work, but on one page

•Submit a presentation marking sheet (see module handbook)

Quality of presentation

See marking sheet, Overview of major criteria:

•Outline suggests the essay will answer the question asked (Bad: Question is not answered)

•Elements of outline suggest good analysis of issues/problems (Bad: Mainly descriptive, little analysis)

•Logical / coherent structure and good time management (Bad: illogical/ rambling structure, shorter/longer)

•Outline suggests sound argument supported by evidence (Bad: Outline suggests little argument and/or evidence)

•Appeared well prepared and familiar with topic and own work (Bad: Poor impression, mainly read outline, suggesting inadequate preparation)

Proofread it

•Don’t skip this step, plan sufficient time

•Quick check on how it should read:

–Intro: Tell the reader what you’re going to tell him/her

–Body: Tell the reader

–Conclusion: Tell the reader what you told him/her

•Your arguments should make sense

•Your submission should be free of typos and grammatical errors

•‘Spellcheck’ is not enough

•Essay length: 1500-2000 words (no more, no less, include word count after the last reference)
