The way our law enforcement is run has changed from century to century. People used to just have all out wars, blood feuds, and revenge killings. As the centuries past the way the law was run changed and we expected a lot more from the people we put in charge of keeping our communities safe. The way the police force is run has changed over the years also. Another change that has come with the passing of time is the challenges that are law enforcement agencies are faced with everyday. We will find out the new obstacles that face our men in blue and why the local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies have had to learn to get along and work together in order to keep the communities safe. We must ask ourselves what we can do to make it easier for the law enforcement agencies do their jobs, so we can live in a community we can be proud of.
There are many issues facing the law enforcement agencies today. Some of these are increasing change in their environments, increasing change of how crimes are committed, technological developments, public opinion, and terrorist. The changing in technological developments has led to a whole new way to commit crime and this has led to the police force having to learn how to go after these criminals. You have to worry more and more about terriost attacking your city and how to handle a situation like this. You also have people convinced that the few police that are in trouble for misconduct, sexual harassment, and corruption are representing what are police force is made up of. This is not true and they are faced every day with trying to sway the public opinion toward the good police on the force. You also have the new threat of terroist who will sacrifice themselves in order to achieve their goals and this leaves the law enforcement agencies with a lot of...
