Partying Fiesta Style

On October 28, 2011 my Elementary Spanish class had a fiesta at Pulaski Technical College in the Grand Ballroom. The ballroom was the place to be that Thursday night. There were many students, their family members and faculty of the school had attended. The fiesta was scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 8 o’clock p.m. I had invited several people to accompany me at the fiesta. My entourage consisted of fiancé Keith, my son Glenn and daughter Dashia and also Kisha my best-friend, my mother Virginia and her husband, my two nieces Joyesshia and Star; and Ronnie my nephew which joined us a little after the start of the fiesta. There were tables decorated with several Spanish dishes that the students had to prepare for the fiesta. There were many tables throughout the room where people were talking and eating while enjoying the fiesta for the night. It was a very upbeat party full of lots of fun and laughter. At the fiesta there were many people dancing to the music the DJ played for the night. There was several different culture of people that was dancing, singing, or swaying to the music. This night had a lot of decorations that looked very familiar such as streamers of several different colors; some wore sombros on their heads. I had tasted all kinds of dishes that I have had before but some I have not. Some dishes I liked and some I did not. Here are some of the dishes that were served; Enchiladas, Beef Tacos, Mexican Rice, and other bean and rice dishes. They even had Virgin Piña Coladas to drink which was handmade by another student. It consisted of:1 cup pineapple juice, 1 cup crushed pineapples, ½ cup coconut milk (canned or fresh), Juice from one lime, and Ice to top of blender. The student blended ingredients until ice was slushy. Then other students poured into cups and enjoyed during the fiesta.
