Language refers to a system of symbols that is used to communicate information and knowledge.

Piaget’s cognitive developmental theory states that cognition develops in predictable stages in the life of humans.

1. Vygotsky’s concept of the “zone of proximal development.” According to the author: “This means that constant social interaction with those around us helps shape the quality of mental abilities and language at various ages. By this he meant that as children verbally interact with others, they internalize language and use it to organize their thoughts.” (Vygotsky, 1978). “He claimed that cultural influence, mental processes, and language are dynamic processes that occur simultaneously.”

The author is trying to say that, every people around the world has a different thought and also the level of thinking. The author also says that the way people think and the level of thinking is also created from the constant social interaction that happens daily. This statement supports the statement that people who speak language differently experience the world differently, because the author states that language and thinking occur together.
