Should Andrea Sales director at Tessuti dalmine quit his job and accept the counter offer from dalmine main competitor Leicester laces considering that the issues he is facing at dalmine currently.He has to give an answer very soon (the next day).

Key people in the case and the story so far:

Giovanni : (President of dalmine) – Was a good guy through the case where he trusted andrea and he gave him support to grow in his role but towards the end he acts irrational ( He mentions that his son alessandro is not getting enough support and the team is too focused on exports)

Giovanni has two sons

Massimo (smart and nice guy trained under andrea)

Alessandro (crazy guy who is causing the trouble at dalmine)

Alberto: joined dalmine as CEO and worked with andrea to turn around the company. Smart and strategic guy who warns andrea to be careful when dealing with Giovanni’s two sons.

Andrea: Main actor in the case. Hard working smart guy who has worked up his ranks through a track record of success. Has spent 16 years in the company.in his role as sales manager he had faced issues form the marketing director in his lack of interest in exporting.But the president Giovanni had supported him after which he had turned around the export nos.After this success he took over the responsibility as Sales director for the company.

Giovanni asked andrea to train Massimo .Andrea assigned him sales in America and he did a good job in that.

Alessandro: started as a clerk in the national sales department.Giovanni himself expressed doubts about alessandros abilities.He did a 1 year MBA and returned to the company.Alberto (CEO) was afraid to place him in finance or production.after speaking to andrea alessandro was placed in national sales as senior sales rep and Luciano’s(head national sales) right hand man.alessandro seems to lack people skills.
