Michael Jordan

Michael Jeffrey Jordan was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 17, 1963 to James and Deloris Jordan, while Michael was still a baby they moved back to Wilmington, North Carolina. As a young boy Michael loved to play baseball with his father. In North Carolina Michael was well known for being a star baseball player. When Michael attended Laney High Wilmington, North Carolina. Michael failed to make the varsity team his sophomore year. So Michael played for the Junior Varsity team. He practiced with his older brother Larry Jordan over the summer. Playing against his brother Larry made him a better player and competitor. Coach Dean Smith of North Carolina Tarheels recruited Michael Jordan as a senior in high school. Michael went on to college to play for North Carolina Tarheels and started as a freshmen. He was one of only four freshmen to ever start under Coach Dean Smith. Michael made a name for himself in NCAA basketball. When he scored the game winning buzzer beating shot against Georgetown University for the 1982 National Championship. Michael Jordan made a decision to for go his senior season to enter the NBA draft. Michael was the 3rd player to be drafted in the NBA by the Chicago Bulls in 1984. In his rookie season he was awarded rookie of the year and went onto be the leagues M.V.P. . Michael Jordan married Juanita Vonoy September 2, 1989 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Michael and Juanita Jordan had a family of 3 kids. Jeffrey, Marcus and Jasmine Jordan. Jordan and the bulls made it to the NBA finals in 1991 against L.A. Lakers. They played a tough 5 game series. Jordan averaged 31.2 points 11-4 assist in the series defeating the Lakers 4-1 in the series to win their first NBA Championship....
