I am writing this apply for financial support for a Business Writing course that will be taught in fall of 2011. The class will take place from six o’clock pm to 8 o’clock pm Monday and Wednesday, from September 13th though November 10th 2011. The total cost of the class will be three hundred and ninety-seven dollars, which includes course materials and books as well. The course involves learning how to write business letters, memos, speeches, research papers, and other business documents. I have attached the course description and syllabus in the memo, for you to look over.

There are many benefits in regards for me attending this class offered at the Community College. The course will include the topic of writing grant proposals for the non-profit agency, which is vital since our organization is currently in need of additional funding. Another aspect of the course that will enhance my business skills is in the area of writing business letters and speeches, since one of my duties is writing business letters to local companies soliciting charitable donation for our company. The speech writing lessons in the course will also give our company an edge in competing for the annual charity galleria sponsorship in May of 2012.

There are many aspects that will enhance my skills in completing this business writing course. Not only is the class affordable, it will also not interfere with my job as it takes place in the evenings after 5pm. .
