1) Describe how typical the attitudes that Sheehy reports appear to be in work environments you have experienced.

The attitude in which Sheehy reported in the fast food work place was very normal activity seen in the work place. My current employment is in the Title and Payday Loan industry I am an Assistant Manager, and I have to truly say that I have experienced some very unethical things since being employed at this company. I have had to deal with co-workers in who you came too for advice about the job be deceptive and greedy and only thinking of ways in which they could make themselves look better in the eyes of upper management. For example, I was talking with another manager about how I felt as though I was over looked for the Office Manager position I was not even offered the position even though I had years of prior experience. Of course this manager went back and told the Area Manager what we had talked about; but made sure that she left out the part in which she had spoken. In the industry in which I work you can’t trust anyone because you never know who may be out to get your position. The employee turn- over rate is ridiculous and the main reasons is because some employees perform illegal actions to help themselves, lack of job performance and the main purpose for termination is theft. Working with money on a daily basis especially large sums of money some people can’t keep their hands too themselves, and don’t realize that they will suffer the consequences for every action in which they may decide to take. So I can truthfully say that I have worked in places where people were only there for one reason only to get a paycheck. They were very rude to the customers and then when management was around they were as sweet as pie.
