Section 1 – Prelude on Leadership

Kicking off this paper with a prelude on Leadership - A mere definition; Leadership is the “activity of leading a group of people or an organization, or the ability to do this”1. Another aspect of Leadership is “influence” (John Maxwell) and he also states that everything rises and falls on leadership. So, if these statements are true, then the job of a leader is to get things done through influencing others.”2 As for how I would assess Leadership; it is the ability of mastering emotions; being an “Emotional Cameleon”, able to cope under any circumstance, being cold headed, and simply put, knows how to ignite and warm people’s hearts and desires. Being Emotionally Intelligent has always been the core focus of Leadership studies / analysis, and it is a common belief that a high scoring leader on Emotional Intelligence, amongst others just as Change, Social, and Intellectual Quotients, is a prelude to Leadership.
