Navy benefits paper

The most important, most valuable asset to the Navy is its people. The Navy’s commitment to their well-being is reflected in their benefits. Having benefits that the Navy offers helps achieve its mission which is maintain, train, and equip combat-ready Naval forces capable of winning a war, and maintaining freedom in the seas (America’s Navy, a global source for good, 2011).

The Navy works to help recruit and keep the most qualified persons, and caters to a large demographic of people such as citizens, non-citizens, male, female, race, and age. Prior to joining the Navy you will go through an extensive screening such as medical history, back-round check, credit check, and you must meet the weight requirements.

These requirements are necessary to ensure you are the most qualified individual for the Navy. The Navy spends millions of dollars annually to ensure all members are trained for mission readiness. Each year the gives qualified service member re-enlistment bonuses to ensure the best Sailors remain in the Navy.

In the Navy it is important to cater to a large demographic to better serve our country. According to “Americas Navy a Global Source for Good” 2011, “Our nation is diverse; our Navy must be no less so. When we capitalize on the strength that diversity brings to the Navy, we are better able to develop new ideas and reach out to partners around the world. America’s greatest asset is not our assembly lines or weapons system, or even our great ships, submarines, and airplanes; it’s our people (Vice Admiral Harry B Harris, Jr. Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for communication networks).”
