1. Page one states that The contract is between the United Parcel Services INC and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters for the period of August 1, 1997 through July 31, 2002. The contract covers all employees of the employer at all facilities.

2. Due to this being a delivery company, drug and alchol use is the largest offense. On page 96 it states that a second positive test is a dischargeable offense.

3. On page 109 the contract states that classification of seniority will prevail when unscheduled work is available. Application of seniority may be made by mutual agreement by the Union and employer. It is important when discussing who is laid off first.

4. According to page 108, wage rates of the employee will be eighty percent of the prevailing rate of UPS journeymen in the area. Compensation is determined by how long you have bee n with the company, You will gain a .25 cent increase when gaining seniority.

5. On page 79, the minimum qualifications are the ability to pass a DOT test, background check and drug test.

6. Page 108 states that transfer and promotions will be negotiated by both employer and union.

7. On page 5, all employees shall remain in good standing as a condition of employment.

8. Page 11 states that the employer recognizes the right of the union to designate stewards in investigating grievances, collection of dues, and transmission of messages.

10. Under section 5, A joint national committee will be appointed to deal with any grievance which has deadlocked at the lower level. The agreement will be final and binding.
