Using Axia College’s Educational Resources

Of many educational resources available at Axia College, the one that I find the most important and useful is the Center for Writing Excellence. From there I navigate to the links on the left side of the page to Tutorials and Guides. From there I select the Grammar and Writing Guides. The Grammar and Writing Guides have been the most useful and informative resources I have used thus far. This has given me a greater understanding on using proper grammar when writing my papers. The skill and drill exercises are very useful in refreshing my memory on proper grammar usage and proper grammar mechanics. The Center for Writing Excellence is also very valuable because here is where I can submit my paper to the plagiarism checker and to Writepoint to check the grammar and formatting. Another useful tool I often use that is available in the Center for Writing Excellence is the reference and citation generator.

Another resource that has been very important to me throughout the last nine weeks is the university library. This is where I can access various resources for doing academic research. I found the most effective way to find the specific resource I need is by viewing all resources alphabetically then by expanding all resource descriptions and from this I can narrow down which site will be the most useful in finding the information that I am looking for. So far some of the most useful resources that I have used include EBSCOhost, Google Scholar, Opposing Viewpoints in Context, Original Source from Britannica and ProQuest. To make finding key information easier and faster I do searches using different terms and different combinations of words. Also include peer reviewed articles when doing searches.
