Disadvantages of Questionnaire Method for data collection
Even if there has several advantages of using Questionnaire method for collecting data, however disadvantages are also stem from the same method.
Firstly, the disadvantages of Questionnaire Method is misunderstanding may occurs. Due to questionnaire is standardized but impersonal, respondents may find some misconception on the questionnaire because there is no possible to bring out a clearly explanation in the questions. Second, the accuracy of the answer or response may be not accurate, this are generally cause by a several reason for instance, respondents are not willing to reveal too much of information to the questionnaire, respondents did not understand about the beneficial of the results that have been collected, the answers might be influenced by other respondents.
There is also a risk of getting low rate of response to those you sent out. Many people may not like or enjoying to fully finish a questionnaire. Requires to the attitude of the respondents that whether they would return back the questionnaire to them. This may cause sample size of your data collection will be reduced. Besides, the respondent types are limited for a questionnaire. Questionnaire can only measured variables that are accountable because it is impossible to ask every type of question in a single form. Result may not be narrow and sufficient.
