I believe a casino in our neighborhood would be very entertaining for people, but in the long run may cause more problems then solutions. A casino would bring so many people to our community, which can cause traffic and it would become overcrowded and very congested. The building of a casino may also cause an increase in crimes and substance addiction issues for many people. With that, another negative effect of a casino is that it may lead to people becoming addicted to gambling, which can be critical to a person’s life and change the whole point of view in our town.

The local commute in a community is always important to people who travel and to people who have jobs in local areas. If a casino was to be put in our community there will be a dramatic increase in traffic and congestion. Our community isn’t built for these types of delays because we are such a small town with only a few roads to get where you need to go. These delays could make people late to work, school, or appointments, which can result in lost business or other personal losses. Traffic can also cause people to waste gas, which increases the air pollution in our town and may cause people to become sick. Another important issue is emergencies and traffic may interfere with emergency vehicles trying to pass to get where they need to go. All together traffic has nothing but a negative effect on our community and can be prevented if you make the right choice.

It’s always good to have the least crimes as possible in a community, but with the addition of a casino in our community, crimes may increase in some areas. History indicates that there will most likely be illicit drug use and sales in areas surrounding casinos. This is a problem because there are a lot of young children in our community and they shouldn’t be around the use of drugs or even people trying to sell them too. Thee will most likely be an increase in the consumption of alcohol causing more alcohol related accidents such as DWI’s. For...
