Introduction

The company is founded by Prof.Dr.h.c. Ing. Christian Bartenbach and from over 30 years he is dealing with the fascinating phenomenon of light. The Bartenbach LichtLabor is dealing with the day light and artificial lighting solutions. It is considered worldwide to be the most prestigious and unique lightning technology developer. Prof. Christian Bartenbach developed in the 60’s the Dark-Light-Technology (the first glare-free lighting), in the 70’s invented the Daylight–Deflecting –Technology as well as glare and sun protection systems, which were further steps in the lighting design development. The research department of the lighting design practice Bartenbach leads for over 30 years, studies on the influence of light on people. The findings of these studies of the light planning are released in publications and presentations to the public or made ​​available to teach the students of the “LichtAcademy Bartenbach”. In addition to clinical studies on the effects of light, there are also studies to the psychology of perception of light and space moods of the people which are currently on the research priorities. The students have the ability to design projects with day and artificial light and to integrate on it their basic knowledge from architecture and design, psychology of perception, medicine, physics and technology. The students are usually involved in real projects, make final model simulations and build connection between theory and practice.
