2.1 Company Overview

For the company Sunica Music and Movies which is a local multimedia chain that have a few different locations four in total. These stores have been acting independently and have not been communicating amongst one another. This has over time created some difficulties such as customer base being lost, an inventory that is hard to keep track of, decentralized accounting , no internet-based customers and more importantly revenue loss. In order to get this situation turned around every store will be tied into a central accounting package and all finances will be centralized as well. A vast improvement will occur to improve the company’s internet based customers. Any transactions that happen in the future will give information in real time to the customer. By doing this the company will be able to keep inventory intact and will also help with all financial responsibilities. To have this happen Sunica Music and Movies will implement a WAN in which every store will be able to access the inventory for all stores. This WAN will also house all of the company’s accounting information that needs to be protected correctly due to its sensitive nature, no matter if it is company or customer information that falls into the wrong hands could be a catastrophic blow to the company as well as the customers. The company must be able to thwart intruders, internal and external threats as well as accidents.

2.2 Security policy overview

A system specific policy is needed due to the fact that this particular system will make sure the policy that is in place works and fits the needs of the company. The company believes that the customer’s information is very important and should be kept confidential as well ensuring that the customers are provided valid information.
