Demonstrative Communication
Communication is sometimes defined as the process of sending and receiving messages. Consequently, a more accurate definition of communication is a shared understanding between the sender and the receiver of the message sent. (Cheesebro, O’Connor, Rios. 2010) Demonstrative Communication is effective/ineffective, nonverbal/verbal and written/unwritten communication and involves such things as facial expressions, tone of voice, body language.
Body Language
Body language is a form of non-verbal communication, which consists of body posture, gestures, facial expressions, and eye movements. Body language may provide clues as to the attitude or state of mind of a person. Physical expressions like waving, pointing, touching and slouching are all forms of nonverbal communication. We as humans move our bodies when communicating because, it help ease the mental effort when communication is difficult. Using body language reveals many things about the person who are using them. For Example: Hand wave can emphasize saying hello or goodbye, posture can reveal boredom and having interest and touch can convey encouragement or caution.
A powerful body language is when a person crosses his/her arms; that indicate the person is putting up a barrier between themselves and the other party. It might also mean, that the person is cold, if they are rubbing or huddling them. Lastly, it could mean that the person is doing some hard thinking on the situation. Overall for my example, it means that I’m putting up a barrier because at some point in time I felt that the other party was just talking to here themselves talk.
