A successful online book tour takes research and planning

An online book tour consists of visiting a different blog, website each day of the tour.

Book trailers- link to book for purchasing always made available excerpts from book on different blogs, etc to help with the curiosity level of potential buyers

Branding your name is key- name recognition! Track alerts of your name or book title being looked up- anything you want to track go for it!

Pre conducted interview : the host sends you a list of questions that you type answers to and

return prior to your scheduled day

Alone vs A service

Research always the key- whether you use a tour service or not- make sure you take ownership over you tour

Always think about your audience- another key to success!

Be sure the services you look into have the right tour partners/blog hosts for your content and goals.

Be sure you have a consistent mug shot of yourself to use

throughout the tour and clear cover art. 78 dpi is good for web posting.

A tip: I always recommend to my classes that you format these

interviews yourself, no matter what the host has sent you, so that they are in Q&A

format with the host’s name in the “Q” spot and your full name appearing in the

“A” spot- sandy lender

some blog hosts want the book to be available already, so

those will be tour stops for the "last portion" of the tour or when the book is

available. Some will want to be pre-release or leading edge-newsy. Those will be

early on. And...
