Global Reporting Initiative

Global Reporting Initiative maps the total impact of an enterprise on the environment that it operates in. Earlier, there was a common belief that the financial reports of a company are more than enough to understand how it is performing in the competitive landscape. But times have changed and so has the outlook.

Today, the financial performance is just one facet that is considered while measuring a company’s performance. Other aspects like the effect of the company’s operations on the social and environmental life is as important as the financial performance. Thus the performance is now measured on three reference lines viz.

1. Economical impact

2. Environmental impact

3. Social impact
