EEthical Code of Conduct

Each employee employed with Our Grace and Mercy Hospital Business Office is responsible for demonstrating integrity by being in compliance with the code of conduct. “Treat others the way you would like to be treated.”

INTEGRITY – Each employee is responsible for conducting themselves in a respectful and ethical manner.

JUDGEMENT - Use good judgment and high ethical standards in the performance of your job responsibilities. If something seems wrong, speak up. Address the issue immediately.

WORK ENVIRONMENT – Respect Co-Workers and the Company. Maintain a healthy and safe work environment. If working conditions are unsafe and/or hazardous report it immediately to your Manager or Compliance Department.

COMPASSION – Being sensitive to the needs of the patients as well as your fellow employees.

CONFIDENTIALITY – Keeping patient information and company information confidential. Respect and protect the confidentiality of patients and business information.

I chose these particular rules of conduct because I know how important it is to be treated the way you want to be treated. In healthcare, you cannot be in it for the all mighty dollar, you have to have a passion for the patients, whether it’s a Doctor, Nurse, Janitor or on the business side. Integrity shows the values and principles a person has, if they conduct themselves with truth and honesty. Using good judgment can put an end to a situation before it escalates. Having a good work environment with co-workers, makes for a good, productive day. Having to work under stressful conditions with co-workers or an unhealthy environment can make it difficult to be productive. Having compassion makes it easier to know what your purpose is. Compassion is caring, whether it’s for a patient, co-worker, client or just anyone in general. Lastly, confidentiality is important in protecting the privacy and rights of a patient or an employee.
