Abstract

As the human resource (HR) manager, the chief executive officer (CEO) has requested assistance in preparing the manual to train and increase knowledge and consciousness to the employees in regards to diversity in the workplace. The CEO has requested a preliminary outline, table of contents and twenty percent of the manual to be completed (AIU Online, 2011). Section 1 will be completed and will include information on the U.S. population demographics in regard to the current statistics, recent trends and forecasted trends. Along with the above mentioned information, information on the U.S. population trends in the regards to the immigrant versus native, religion, age and race will also be included.

As the human resource (HR) manager, the chief executive officer (CEO) has requested assistance in preparing the manual to train and increase knowledge and consciousness to the employees in regards to diversity in the workplace. The CEO indicated, during the interview, that the demographics of the workforce have changed dramatically within the last couple of decades. Even though these changes have occurred and there have been increased workforce struggles, the head supervisors and the previous HR manager had not changed. These still remained to be especially middle aged (50’s and 60’s) white males with their background being Judeo-Christian. To assist the CEO, she has requested a preliminary outline, table of contents and twenty percent of the manual to be completed (AIU Online, 2011). The twenty percent of the manual that will be completed at this time will include information on the U.S. population demographics in regard to the current statistics, recent trends and forecasted trends.
