There are many different types of theories and there are many differences between them. They all revolve around some type of crime and mean many different aspects of it as well. Choice theories are a perspective on a type of crime that happens after a conscious choice. The main one that I think is important is rational theory. Rational choice theory is a perspective on crime causation that holds that criminality is the result of conscious choice. It also states in the book that most criminals will commit the same crime more than once when the benefits outweigh the costs of disobeying the law. I have seen so many people do the same crime over and over and in turn go to jail over and over until they have a life sentence in prison. I feel that the way this affects our society is that we no longer feel safe with having the types of offenders that commit the crime over and over on the streets. I feel that yes we can lock them up and leave them their but we are slowly running out of room in our prison system. With that being said, I do not think that there is much that can be done about this other that making law enforcement more set on the certain locations that the crime is being done. This way it they can somewhat resolve the problem but that also goes into funding which a lot of states do not have.
