Organizational Behavior and Communication

In this paper I will review GE Corporation philosophy, mission, vision, and values statements. Also, what are the adopted values, of the company. How the company communication determine the organization culture. How the discrepancy between adopted values and authorized values affect perceptions within GE Company? I will also, describe how the communication works in perception and organizational culture. By identifying the role of conflict in-group communication I will be able to explain how might GE Company use conflict to improve communication between the organizations.

“In 1900, GE opened their first industrial research and development laboratory in the United States” (GE Company, 2011). During time, the GE research lab has created new technologies for the consumer. “And today, GE Global Research consists on thousand of employees working in four state-of-the-art facilities: Niskayuna, New York; Bangalore, India; Shanghai, China; and Munich, Germany” (GE Company, 2011).

“GE Company is a global organization, finance and media company facing the world’s hardest challenges; from making everyday light bulbs to fuel cell technology, to cleaner, more efficient jet engines, GE has continually changing the world with revolutionary innovations” (GE Company, 2011). Having as mission and a commitment the improvement of a friendly environment technology at a lower cost. Also, their vision and imagination of an ecofriendly technology makes them believe that the growth of the company can be made by the simultaneous work of the financial and environmental performance.
