Course Description:

This course provides a survey of the business world. Topics include basic principles and practices of contemporary business. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of business concepts as a foundation for studying other business subjects.

Course Policies:

1. Attendance Policy:

• The PCC Attendance Policy applies. Please refer to the current General Catalog (page 48) for information.

• Any student missing 2 tests will be unofficially dropped. This will result in the student’s name being removed from the class roster.

2. Make-up Policy:

Test(s) should be taken at the regular time scheduled. Most assignments are posted with, at a minimum, 10 days and sometimes longer to complete. This is more than enough time to complete the work in this course. If you choose to wait until the last day (not to mention the last hour) to complete the assignment, then you have also chosen to accept the consequences of any delays you may incur. These may include your computer not working, you getting sick,etc. The due date is when the completed assignment is due—not when work is to begin on the assignment.

3. Assignments:

No late assignments will be accepted. A grade of ZERO will be averaged into the final grade for each assignment not turned in.

4. Grading:

Tests 50%

Assignments 30%

Forums 10%

Final 10%

Grading Scale: A (90-100) B (80-89) C (70-79) D (60-69) F (below 60)
