Local Gas Company Causes Illness in Small Community

To whom it may concern:

I have found appalling information of which every community member should be made aware. Many have noted that there are community members who are all suffering from like symptoms; this is clearly linked to the environment surrounding us. After personal research I have discovered the local gas company is to blame, due to their poor and lenient policies.

When the gas company is not forced to maintain strict standards and government safety regulations they are likely to release chemical run offs onto the land. They are than absorbed by the soil and into the water supplies. These chemicals can also be released into the air and cause additional pollution. In any case, community members can absorb the harmful chemicals though their drinking water or through breathing the air around them which will cause them to become very ill that can result in death.

When I decided to research the problem causing these illnesses’ I made sure I had questions in mind as well as credible sources to gather information from. After speaking with the experts about the effects of chemicals and the symptoms of chemical poisoning, I found the illness’s our communities are facing are due to chemicals. Once I was able to relate the chemicals to the illness I dug further into the problem to find who was to blame. When I reached the bottom I found the gas company was to blame; their lack of policies and slack work caused many chemical leaks around the community, none of which were ever inspected by the gas company, even after calls from locals complaining of a foul odor coming from one of the pipes.

As community members it is our right to breathe clean air and be free from harm, it is not fair that the gas company did not do their job and now many of our community members are ill or dead. We need to join as a community and confront this...
