Patton fuller community hospital has a firm commitment for the proper application of The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 rules. The standards are meant to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the nation's health care system by encouraging the widespread use of electronic data interchange in the U.S. health care system (Wikipedia, 1996). The hospital is observance to the norms that are in practice, as well as its standardized or homogeneous business model in place. This paper will examine the current business system in place: Who, what, when, how, and why? Research the options for improving the current systems. And, will describe what improvement might be adopted to enhance the relationships with outside organizations and global organizations.
The Patton-Fuller Community Hospital has excellent devices and is using their current technology pretty well; but there is not much information on what the present administrative and IT business systems currently in place exists. Each system uses different business systems (ERP, CRM, or KM) to let them conduct their regular day to day business. Hospitals have the need for both diagnostic systems and the systems required for daily operation.
The Patton-Fuller Community Hospital infrastructure comprises of two systems. The first system is a MAC OS X Leopard operating system. The system is an Apple’s desktop and server operating system for Macintosh computers. Apple Macintosh computers are used throughout the hospital’s operational units, Apple Mac Pro, Apple iMAC, and Apple Cluster Servers.
