The 9/11 Conspiracy Theory:

Deceit, Misinformation, or Ignorance?

The tragedy of 9/11 will go down as one of the most infamous days in the history of our country. Who can forget what he or she was doing that day when the news hit the airwaves that not one but two airplanes crashed into the World Trade Centers, and then when a 3rd plane crashed into the Pentagon? America has never experienced this type of type of terrorism on our home front; a direct, brazen attack on the nation that is at the front of the war on terror. Our country has experienced tragedy before such as Pearl Harbor, The Kennedy Assassinations, and MLK. Why is it though that this tragedy hits so close to home in our hearts? It has been almost 8 years since the September 11th attacks, but to the majority of the country the wounds of that day are still raw, scars that will never truly heal; maybe we don’t ever want them too. But why do we still feel so emotionally attached to that day?

Why is it so hard for us to accept what happened and move on from it? Could it be because for the first time we felt vulnerable and completely exposed to the war on terrorism? That for the first time the war came right to our front doorsteps and shattered our faith that we were untouchable, invulnerable to things that until then were just current events that we read about or saw on the evening news. Are these the reasons why we continue to discuss 9/11? Or could it be something else? A feeling that our Government knows more than it is letting on about the events leading up to 9/11?
