Mother and Daughter Relationship

A mother and daughter relationship can be vital from birth to adulthood. To improve a mother- daughter relationship it should based on three important factors. The relationship should be rooted and grounded in trust, respect, and communication.

Everyone relationship is different and are developed in many different ways. Having a strong foundation of love from a mother strengthens every aspect of our lives. One of the key elements in a mother- daughter relationship is love. Many mothers do not know how to express love to their children. . The child feels as if the mother does not care or they seek it in another form. In Amy Tan, “Two Kinds” short story the author states, “In all of my imaginings I was filled with a sense that I would soon become perfect: My mother and father would adore me. I would be beyond reproach. I would never feel the need to sulk, or to clamor for anything.”(par.10) the statement indicates that the daughter felt unloved and unappreciated. Compassion, love and caring are necessary for strengthening the bond between mother and daughter. Most mothers love their daughter and daughters love their moms. Love from both parties can eliminate hurt and the feeling of worthlessness. When both the mother and the daughter feel as though they are loved, valued and accepted by both parties, they tend to leave the constant edge of fighting behind.

Mothers must learn how to trust their daughter and trust that what they have instilled in them will manifest at the right moment.
