Organisational behaviour is the study of what people think, feel and do in and around the organization. A discipline can be said to be multi-disciplinary when it involves contributions from other disciplines in order to elaborate more on the views and ideas of the particular discipline since it involves contributions from other discipline such as sociology, psychology and many other related ones.

According to McShane and Von Glinow (2000), Organisational behaviour as part of the social science is anchored around the idea that it should draw on knowledge from other disciplines rather than its own isolated research base. They went further to classify these disciplines into traditional and emerging disciplines include communication; electric mail, communicating corporate culture, knowledge management, information systems and women studies.

I will therefore explain further how these disciplines contribute to Organisational behaviour;

Sociology helps us to understand how people relate to others especially in groups. This has contributed in group dynamics, design of work teams, formal organisational structure and bureaucracy.

According to Robbins (2005), Psychology contributes mainly at the individual or micro-level of analysis such as learning perception, leadership effectiveness and motivational forces.

Social psychology is an area within psychology blending concepts from psychology and sociology, focusing on the influence of people on another. It concentrates on change- how to implement it and reduce barriers to its acceptance, measuring, understanding, changing attitudes and communication patterns.

Anthropology is the study of societies to learn about human activities. It includes human physical character, geographical distribution and cultural history and practices. These help to understand differences in fundamental values, attitudes (Organisational culture).
